Tutorial Details

Incorporating figures into a landscape watercolor painting can be useful for many reasons. Figures help to provide scale, add a human element, and can provide a story for the viewer.
During this tutorial, I explain and demonstrate, with over 1 hour of video, how you can include figures into your watercolor landscapes.
I also provide several practice exercises for you to follow and improve.

Excellent! I have always been fearful of adding figures into my landscapes. Brienne applies the same methods to figure painting as she does to her landscapes...tea to butter, initial washes, which blend colors together, details last. This has given me more confidence to add a human element to my paintings. Now time to practice, practice, practice gestural drawings of people!
