Workshop Details

Brienne teaches how to effectively use value studies while painting with color. The value pattern is the structure that holds together a strong painting. Yet, it can be difficult to keep that structure when painting with color.

With over 2 hours of video, learn with Brienne as she creates monochromatic and color studies, and then finally a finished painting.

Follow her step by step process as she demonstrates how to focus on the value pattern to achieve a successful, strong painting.

Brienne's knowledge and skill at breaking down the positive and negative aspects of my paintings has been very helpful in my quest to improve. She has given me much to work on and ways to express my artistic vision more effectively. Thanks Brienne!

This was an excellent tutorial. The value sketches & paintings were very helpful, as I tend not to do these before I paint because I become way too detailed. Brienne walks you through how to simplify & create quick studies. The explanation of how to use paint in the consistency of tea, cream & butter was a great reminder for me as I tend to stop at cream much of the time. Brienne is very clear & thorough teacher.
